Window Hang Ups

Window coverings don't need to be complicated to be dramatic. In fact, often it's a classic case of less is more when it comes to dressing your view to the world.

A textured wooden rod becomes the counterpoint to these curtains' crisp, white fabric. Black grommets enhance the minimalist lines while also echoing both the color and basic shape of the rod's more intricate wrought iron caps. This window treatment has the ability to make a statement without overpowering a room's décor.

Texture and color combine in this contemporary twist on a traditional window treatment. Alternating panels of cream and rust are suspended by thick O-rings sporting a geometric pattern and color reminiscent of the artistry of African wood carvings. End caps finished in rust fabric complete the cohesiveness of this simple yet effective window treatment.

To soften the straight edges of a cottage window, curtaining is first hung on either side using enough fabric to give the gathered look of full-width curtains drawn back. A third piece of fabric, drawn up in the center, wraps around the tops and is tacked behind creating a neatly swagged, pseudo-valance. The fabric's green color and stylized floral motif form a perfect complement to the rural setting and cottage architecture.
